Southern Soul Assembly makes its Workplay debut

Anyone that follows the local music scene knows that JJ Grey, Anders Osborne, Marc Broussard and Luther Dickinson can each fill Workplay on any given night of the year. But when the four of them pool their talents to form the Southern Soul Assembly, fans are set for an unprecedented night of music. On Wednesday, April 2, the SSA will make its debut Birmingham performance in the Workplay SoundStage.

Though the four artists are linked by their gritty,  soulful music, each places his own unique spin on Southern roots music. Broussard and Osborne play their songs with a Louisiana-fueled influence while Floridian Grey and Mississippian Dickinson bring a well-worn, earthy quality to their songs. The quartet will be touring through the Southeast and Eastern Seaboard on this leg of the tour.
